They Still Come in the Heat!

Amazing - Shane and his apprentice have come out this morning and done a hell of a lot more work - even though we had 44 degrees today! Amazing work - got here at 6.30 to try and avoid the heat - it really is taking shape. However I think this will be the end of their working week - another two days of 43+ will kill them....

This weekend Jan and Stan are coming over so we can get started on the weatherboards

The Roof Man is here

Today Shane the roofer and his apprentice have turned up - and started putting up the colorbond sheets - as you can see they are making a heap of progress. This is despite the horrid weather that we have been getting during the day - the heat is a real killer - just imagine how hot it is up there on top of the roof. Tomorrow starts three days of 43+ degree days so I dont think they will be back for a while...

The Roof Is Up!

Finally the roof trusses are on! Grant and his boys are really working hard through the heat to get this beasty together - every day it takes on more shape to appear like a real house.

Still Mitch is referring to it as 'The Broken House'

The Window frames are being put in next

The Day of ..... THE FRAME

Today is the day - of the FRAME - got up this morning at 6am to go and meet the driver
who was driving the prefabbed framework down from Bendigo to arrive at 7. As I got to the front of the block I found that he had already put the frame on the curb ready for the assemblers

Then, when I was getting the electrical cord out of the shed, the assemblers showed up - I threw the cord over the fence to Grant and then hit the road to start back at work - in Doveton....

Fortunately Kaz was at home keeping me posted as to the progress - the house is bloody HUGE...

Amazing - the whole frame is now up - in ONE DAY! Tomorrow mid afternoon the Roof Trusses arrive - this is expected to take a bit longer - should be completed by Monday next week in readiness for the Roofer to come along to put on the iron.

Amazing - progress finally...
