Day 5 - Saturday day of Rest

Not bloody likely - Alex and his dudes went all out on Saturday - we thought maybe a little cleanup - not what follows - IMPRESSIVE....

Taking into account that this is 5 days of work, the impressive thing is all demolition thus far has been done by hand - no machinary has been used to this point apart from chainsaws.

Monday sees the arrival of the serious machines - to start digging up stuff. We hope that the floor dudes will be ready to rock Thursday morning - with the look of this that could be a good target.

Day 4 - No roof

Got home today and the roof was completely off. Mitch and I went for a walk over to the house after we got fish and chips for tea, the girls had gone shopping and Ty had gone to his mums' house. As Mitch puts it, the house is 'Broken'...

And here is what's left of the ceiling roses...

The Third Day of Demolition

Third day, what more can I say, back porch no more, just a dunny on its own, absent of all things terracotta except for small morsals on the lawn. Still awaiting on the ceiling roses to see if they can re-bloom - fingers crossed everybody...

We hope Alex can save these two ceiling roses to be
reused in our new place - savour some remnants of the old house.

Day Two - Taking shape

Things are starting to accelerate from here - yesterday there were obvious holes in front walls and lots of stuff laying around, flesh wounds really, whereas now the skeleton is starting to peek through. Asbestos sheeting has been taken away, in time for the demolition to kick into second gear.

Hello Shed.....

Here's a good indication of the tiles which have taken their last swan dive

Current estimates from our man in the know seems to indicate that Alex and his cronies will be done and dusted by Tuesday next week. Go Alex.

The House Prior to the Big Day

Here's some pics showing the house 2 days before demolition.

And So.... It Began

Today is Day Number 1 of the build. Demolition dude - Alex from AJ's Demolition was at the site at precisely 7.30am with his helper to get started. Walking through the house to show him what we would like to save took 10 minutes and then off to work. Kaz was keeping a close eye on the place throughout the day, hearing the chainsaws and various other noises emitting from over the fence, a couple of drive bys showed considerable progress on the demo. Check out some of the pictures from the day
